Fellow Spartan,
We are updating our Terms & Conditions because we’re changing or introducing new services and products that affect our existing offerings. To make it easy, here’s what you need to know:
When do the changes apply?
Most updates will take effect on 03.12.2025.
Some updates required by law or relevant to new services are effective immediately, including Verification of Payee (VoP), Payment Initiation Services (PISP), and Account Information Services (AISP).
What’s changing?
We’ve refreshed our Terms to make them clearer, more transparent, and easier to follow. We’ve also combined different sets of terms into one single document, so everything is in one place. Here are some of the most important updates:
- We’ve clarified how your account can be used and what that means for you in practice
- We’ve given a clearer explanation of virtual IBANs so you know exactly what they are and how you can use them
- We’ve added more detail about how we safeguard your money, so you can be confident your funds are protected
- We’ve given a clearer explanation on how we treat dormant (inactive) accounts and what happens if you don’t use your account for a long time
- We’ve introduced a new definition of ECOMMVERSE, to make sure everything is clearly defined
- We’ve updated our obligations around sanctions, indemnification and liabilities, in line with legal requirements
- We’ve added a new section on electronic signatures and receiving information digitally, making it easier for you to interact with us online
- We’ve introduced new sections for Verification of Payee (VoP) and Payment initiation & Account Information Services
- We’ve strengthened the rules on account security, with clearer details on how to keep your account safe
You can read the full Terms & Conditions here:
What if you don’t agree?
If you don’t agree with the updates, you can end your relationship with us before 03.12.2025.
If we don’t hear from you, it means you accept our new Terms & Conditions. 😊
Spotlight: Verification of Payee (VoP)
VoP is a new service required by the EU Instant Payments Regulation. It helps reduce fraud, prevent misdirected payments, and minimize costly errors. When you make a SEPA Credit Transfer, VoP will check whether the name of the person you are paying matches the name on their account.
- If the name you enter matches the account name, the payment continues as normal
- If there’s only a partial match, no match, or if we can’t check, you’ll see a warning so you can double-check before continuing
- VoP will not block payments, it simply gives you extra information for peace of mind
